If you’re looking to bridge over ERC-tokens (e.g. ETH, USDC, USDT) from Ethereum network to Moonbeam using Nomad’s trust-minimized bridge, this guide will take you through the entire process.

ERC-tokens are tokens that reside on the Ethereum blockchain. These include ETH, USDC, USDT, WBTC and DAI. ERC is a standard that Ethereum-based tokens adhere to.

Step 1: Posses ETH Tokens

Ensure that you have Ethereum to bridge and cover gas fee on your wallet.

Step 2: Open Bridge Page

Navigate to StellaSwap’s Bridge and click on Bridge from Nomad.

or directly visit https://app.nomad.xyz/

Step 3: Select Ethereum to Send

Click on Select Token, choose ETH. Make sure the origin network is set to Ethereum and destination network Moonbeam.

Step 4: Enter Bridge Amount

Input your desired bridge amount and click Next. If you get prompted to connect your wallet do so.

Step 5: Review & Select Bridge

A page with two different options will show up:

1. Bridge Via Nomad: No fee but will take between 30–65 minutes (Continue from Step 6–8)

2. Bridge Via Connext: Estimate time between 7–10 minutes for an additional fee (Jump to Step 9–11)

Select whichever method suits you, we will go through both in this guide.

Step 6: Select Nomad Bridge and Click Send

A confirmation message from your Metamask is required with gas fees to send the transaction. Click Confirmto proceed. (Skip to step 9 if you chose Connext bridge)

Step 7: Wait For Bridge Transaction Completion

After transaction gets confirmed, the bridge process will begin with status update showing estimated time remaining.

Step 8: Transfer Complete

Status will show TRANSFER COMPLETE once bridge transaction is done.

Step 9: Bridge Via Connext

Click on Bridge Via Connext and click Send.

Step 10: Confirm Transaction

Metamask will popup to confirm your transaction.

Step 11: Claim Bridge Transaction

Using Connext requires a signature to claim bridged funds once assets are bridged. click on Claim and sign metamask transaction to get your funds.

Step 12: Success you have Completed your Bridge Transaction

You can head to Moonscan block explorer, enter your wallet address to confirm receiving your tokens.

Step 13: [Optional] Import madETH Token on Wallet Manually to View Balance

For new networks, you would usually need to import tokens to view the balance on Metamask. When you’ve bridged your madETH (Nomad-wrapped ETH) for the first time, don’t worry if you don’t see your madETH balance on Metamask because you need to manually import the token for it to be viewable. You can do so by clicking on Import Token on your metamask:

Thereafter, enter the contract address for madETH at the Token Contract Address field which is 0x30D2a9F5FDf90ACe8c17952cbb4eE48a55D916A7. The rest of the information will be automatically populated. Once done, click on the Add Custom Token.

Click on Import Tokens.

You’re done!
